We traded in our timeshare this year and booked this through RCI. I was well prepared for their high pressure "welcome breakfast" and firmly told the lady on check-in that we were on vacation and had absolutely no interest in buying one of their timeshares. That's all there was to it. They left my family alone for the rest of... more

Stay away from the Time Share presentation!! My family and I used an RCI exchange to stay at this resort last week and while the resort itself is decent, has an OK pool - needs resurfacing, lovely grounds and the wait/maid staff are incredibly friendly, the salespeople at the timeshare presentation are OVERBOARD. We were genuinely interested in what they... more

We just got back. I can say that this property is in a very nice location. Close to down town and to the marina. There is a new resturant that just open across the street. Really good food and cheap. Next to the OXOX. The people at the resort will do anything for you. The activities are great for the... more

I got married here in May 2007. My guests mainly stayed at the nearby Marriott because we wanted to keep the guests away from the ceremony and reception sites until the wedding. I did have three couples stay here, because the Marriott was booked about a month prior to the trip. My husband and I also stayed here as part... more

We exchanged a RCI timeshare to Mayan Palace Puerto Vallarta. People at the front desk asked us to have a "welcome breakfast" in order to get the information of the resort (like activities schedules, etc.). Of course this was a lie. The guy who was in charge of us didn't mention a word about the activities or the schedule. Instead... more

We just returned from a week in Puerto Vallarta at the Mayan Palace. Our room (1 bedroom suite) was on the third floor of the main building. While we didn't have an ocean view, we did have a nice view of the marina as well as a full balcony. Our room was nice and was definitely large enough for the... more

We own a one week master suite with the Mayan Palace and after hassling for a couple of years with RCI, we decided to stick with the Mayan Group for our trips. We love Mexico which is why we bought in the first place. Last year was our first time in PV and we stayed at the Mayan Marina. Every... more

Like many others, we read reviews extensively before traveling and decided this hotel would be a good match for our needs - traveling with our four year old daughter and trying to find some time to relax. Hopefully, we can pay back by leaving a review that others find helpful. We purchased a week at the Mayan Palace on ebay... more

We booked our stay via an RCI exchange but used Timeshare Users Group's classifieds (google it) to obtain several other rooms for a large group of family, some at only about $500 per week. Understand that Grupo Mayan operates several resorts here. Mayan Palace in the Marina is where we stayed. They also have the Sea Gardan, Mayan Palace, and... more

This hotel lacks atmosphere in a very major way. The lobby reminds one of an airport departure hall. There are no redeeming features - no lovely works of art to ponder over, no water features, no beautiful floral arrangements - just concrete and glass and as it was just after Christmas a very sad looking spindly inadequate Christmas tree. Had... more
