The San Marino is located on a nice beach in the "Romantic Zone" of Puerto Vallarta, which is a charming area of cobblestone streets, great restaurants and shops, etc., but more like the "real" Mexico than the line of glitzy hotels, isolated far from town, where tourists usually stay. Everything we needed or wanted was close by and we never... more

We were able to get a one week all-inclusive at the San Marino for $675 Canadian and were very satisfied with the bargain. The hotel is older, but the room was nice and clean. We up-graded to an ocean view which was definately worth it. The staff is very pleasant and the meals were good, especially the breakfasts with omelettes... more

Great location if you want to be in the heart of the action - Right on the beach in Old town (Romantic Zone). We ended up booking All Inclusive which ensured we wouldn't starve or run out of Sol, however we really only ate breakfast there and spent most of the day away from the hotel on the beach and... more

Our group of 2 famililies with 2 toddlers just returned from the sunny beaches of Mexico to the dreary spring weather of Calgary. We loved the location of the resort being downtown in the heart of what is Mexico. Our rooms were both on the street side so we did incur some noise the first night we were there(Saturday), but... more

My husband and I recently returned from our all-inclusive one-week stay at the San Marino Hotel and we loved it! One caveat, however, is that in my view it's critical to have a Junior Suite ocean view room to give this hotel an 'above average' rating. I'll start with the 'down sides' to this hotel, to get them out of... more

We (father and teenage daughter) really enjoyed our stay at the San Marino. The staff are naturally pleasant and did there best to makes ones stay enjoyable. Our one problem with a phone resulted in a new one in less than ten minutes. The hotel event coordinator is enthusiastic, even if guest participation sometimes falters. Safety and security was not... more

We stayed at the San Marino from March 17-24. We were not aware that this was "Semana Santa" (Holy Week) so we were surprised by the huge crowds on the beaches and everywhere else... We were booked into room 526. Big Mistake. It was old and run-down, hard to access and it looked out over a VERY noisy street. After... more

The hotel San Marino is not a good hotel by any means. I can't believe I am actually writing a review of this hotel. I guess I got misled through some of the reviews I read on this site (Stating that the San Marino was a great place to stay) and I felt the need to give my opinion and... more

We just returned from a fantastic week in Old Puerto Vallarta. The San Marino Hotel was the place my wife and I chose for our first time to be "Warm in the Winter". We realized, after weeks of researching, our destination would have to be the Charm of the El Centro District and the Romantic Zone. We knew going in... more

This was my 20th trip to Puerto Vallarta, and once again it was over the top. I have stayed at the San Marino 6 times over the years. This was my Mom's first trip to Mexico. My Dad just past this last Dec, so I thought I would take my Mom to PV well..... SHE loved it and fell in... more
