I travel to Mexico at least six weeks a year, and I have never experienced anything like this past week. My son got very sick the second day we were there, but there is a doctor on staff that will give them a shot for 50 dollars. It did make it feel much better. The doctor seemed to very popular... more

A group of six stayed at the Melia Azul Ixtapa from 5/16/08 to 5/23/08. Let me say that the Hotel was very nice. We had room 1906 with a balcony and the view was wonderful. The room was very clean and the bed was not hard at all. In fact, this was the most comfortable bed that I have slept... more

Just returned from Ixtapa. Due to a mix up, we ended up staying our last night at the Melia Azul. We were all very excited to try something new and it seemed so nice. The pools and play grounds for the kids were so impressive from afar. Once we started our experience it was not what was expected. Check-in took... more

My husband, 2 kids (ages 18 months and 3 years), and I just returned from a week-long stay at the Melia Azul Ixtapa. We have stayed at other all-inclusive resort chains in Mexico and the Caribbean such as Riu and Iberostar, and the Melia Azul was on par with those places. Our first impression of the hotel was that none... more

We just came back from the Melia Azul and were quite happy with it. We paid 3400 taxes in for 3 people and knew going we were'nt staying at a Palace. We've been away a lot so do have some places to compare to. The food was good but the buffet was repetitious (I know buffets usually are but this... more

Well it started off OK.....then Saturday the Mexican holiday season started (Now that I know I will never go to Mexico the last two weeks in March - crazy busy) and the Hotel was stretched far beyond what it could handle. Also Never book your deep sea fishng with Bennie Guzman located in Zihuatanejo Even his fellow fisherman friends called... more

Much has been written about this resort in these pages. Most of it true. Some that cause you to scratch your head over too, but that is normal in these reviews. All things are relative after all. We just returned March 4th, from a two week stay at the Melia Azul. Generally, we liked it very much. Biased somewhat, by... more

We found the hotel facilities to be adequate but not 4 star. We had large sections of mold on our bathroom ceiling. This made the smell quite bad especially when the air conditioner was on. So we didn't turn it on and it was difficult to sleep. We tried to get a new room but they said none were available... more

LOVED the view from our room over the pool and the ocean, you could hear the waves crashing on the beach at night. REQUEST A BALCONY!!! Breakfast and lunch buffets were decent, not your Palace Hotel 5 star but good enough. LOVED the people of Ixtapa, and the very gracious hotel staff but don't expect to be able to speak... more
