My wife and I were concerned having booked our holiday at the RIU, when we read some of the reviews on Tripadvisor, but we need not have been as other than a few minor issues everything was excellent. The Room We paid the supplement for an "ocean view" room but the room we were allocated seemed to have the same... more

My mother and I arrived at the Riu on July 6.2008 and stayed until July 10. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Alma at the front desk, who was not friendly at all. She basically handed us a brochure about the hotel and said, "everything you need to know is in there." She did not explain a thing to us... more

Went from July 6-10, 2008. Booked with Canjet from Toronto. This was our 2nd time going to Nassau. First time at RIU. Food Breakfast was terrific, lunch was terrible (no selection at all, same thing every day, mostly fries, burgers and hot dogs). Dinner was so-so which is why we booked the Steakhouse 2 times and the Gourmet Restaurant once.... more

This was our 2nd trip to Bahamas. First time, we stayed at Atlantis Royal towers, with 2 of my kids, it cost a lot of money. Here is the catch, if you choose to stay in Atlantis, then you should stay in Royal tower or Cove for newer rooms, if not then you will be wasting your money in Beach... more

Having sayed at the Riu, and visited the Atlantis, I 'm glad we went for the smaller All Inclusive choice. The Atlantis seemed to miles of corridors full of bewildered tourists trying to find somewhere to eat or drink that they could afford- or that would let them in with the Dress Code rules. OK, the Atlantis is spectacular in... more

We arrived at the RIU on June 8. I was really impressed with the lobby. It is truly unique. But things started to go downhill from there. When I was checking in, I asked for a room with a pool view. What I got was an even # room with an ocean view if you stood in the middle of... more

My husband and I stayed at the RIu from May 18th-21st for our honeymoon. The location of the resort is absolutely stunning. The hotel itself is slightly on the older side and the rooms are standard hotel rooms, nothing outstanding however they have an amazing view of the ocean. The hotel is directly on the gorgeous beach which was amazing.... more

This was one of the best trips I've taken in a while...the mini bus picked us up at the airport on time - the hotel was quick to get us registered and handed out drinks while we waited our turn - the staff was always friendly - there was a information meeting about the hotel and surrounding areas if you... more

Second time at Riu Paradise Island. Upon check-in, we were informed that the magnetic key system was down and people were waiting in the hallways for a hotel employee to let them manually in their rooms (after a too-long wait for an employee to go floor to floor letting people in). The first night we were put in a room... more

My Review The Hotel is need of a make-over, it's a little out of date. The rooms are clean. The elevators are slow (sometimes out of service). The Food is great. Great All inclusive food is hard to find. The Staff is pleasent, an extra 20 dollars gets you a room up grade. The Pool is.... a POOL. It looks... more
