As is always the case with the major hotel chains, there are the shining examples - those which deliver everything the brand promises, and more - and there are those which don't really live up to the standards that we, as consumers, have rightfully come to expect. The British Colonial Hilton falls into the second category. First off, I have... more

Whatever you may be quoted as a rate, it is not what you will pay, believe me. Mandatory service charges for food service (buffet included), maid service, energy surcharges and the like will add substantially to the "advertised" rate. This is a terribly misleading and dishonest prctice by the hotel, and Hilton should be ashamed! Check-in was slow, but courteous.... more

I just got back from a vacation that was cut short due to this hotel and I am not one to cut a vacation short. We were supposed to stay there for only 3 nights and we cut the trip to 1. Room service was slow and when it arrived we received two hamburgers(that were undercooked), fries and two bottles... more

Just returned from the Bahamas and a one night stay at the Hilton (after 5 amazing nights at Atlantis), long story. Compared to other Hiltons, this room was small, dingy, lacked light and had a mildewy smell. Aside from the shower trickling, there was no hot water. The room had no towels when we arrived and none of the windows... more

We read the previous reviews and were a little concerned before we went. But we want to say the hotel and staff were wonderful. The staff and the location helped make our stay very pleasant. We would recommend this hotel for people that want a quiet beach and a pleasant staff. You are very close to downtown Nassau for shopping... more

We stayed here for 3 nights prior to our live abroad dive trip. The staff was very nice, said hello every time we met them in the hall, pool or dining areas. Our room had one small problem, called the front desk and by the time we return from breakfast it had been corrected. We would rate the staff very... more

My husband and I just spent 5 nights for our anniversary and I was a bit concerned with reading some current reviews about "trickling water", "poor service" and "small rooms"...but we were very happy with everything. The water was fine and we even drank it!!! The service was good from the front desk, to the maid service & the conceirge...we... more

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 5 days in May for our anniversary. We used Hilton points for our stay so it was basically free, except for the fuel charges, the maid charges and a few other things that amounted to about $10 per day. This is about a 100 year old hotel so things are going... more

We stayed at this property for 3 nights in May- the location was close walking distance to shopping and restaurants and the Straw Market. The beach spots were fairly empty for the weekend, so we had no problems getting hammocks on the lawn or chairs. The drinks at the poolside were good and resonably priced. There is also a liquor... more
