Casa Flamboyant was just what we were looking for...a secluded, beautiful place to reconnect with each other. The house is beautifully situated and you could easily spend the day reading by the pool and staring out to sea or hypnotized by the waterfall. But there is plenty to keep you active, from jungle hikes to discovering hidden swimming holes to... more

Wonderful place, people, and food -- and great dogs! We only had time for a one-night stay, but we had a great time hiking in the rainforest park, lounging on the deck, and being led by Blackie down the back path to the waterfall. The coqui are loud, but hypnotic -- we slept like babies. more

Me and my new wife just got married April 19th in Rincon. After spending five days with our friends and family we were understandingly exhausted. In fact I debated canceling our time at Casa Flamboyant and getting an early flight. Glad I didn't. Casa Flamboyant is a fantastic place to spend some peaceful time alone with a loved one in... more

First, Shirley is terrific. She's affable, knowledgeable, there when you want to chat and not there when you don't. The Rainbow Room is private, accomodating and the bed is terrific. (We forgot to mention that to you, Shirley.) We disagree with one reviewer. The coquis are part of the charm. If you're going to stay in the rain forest, expect... more

There just aren't enough great things to say about this place...absolutely gorgeous! Shirley is the perfect hostess -- helpful and friendly but not in-you-face -- she respects your space. She arranged our day-long hike in the rainforest with Robin (terrific guide!). Her breakfasts are incredible. The property is breathtaking. Soma and Blackie (resident canines) are a hoot and make the... more

We stayed in the Rainbow room for 3 nights over the Thanksgiving Holiday. Casa Flamboyant is set in the middle of the El Yunque rain forest and it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. Shirley was a wonderful hostess and was very helpful. She arranged dinner for us, made arrangements for a fabulous tour with Robin Phillips,... more

Incredible place! Fabulous innkeeper! Will go again and again if I am so lucky! Late spring 2007, I decided to take a very long weekend away from the hustle and bustle of NYC to come to find peace and tranquility and maybe a little adventure, in El Yunque, PR. I had reviewed Elena's Rainforest Safari website, the definitive source for... more

My husband and I stayed at Casa Flamboyant this past winter and I've been meaning to give some feedback on what a wonderful spot this is to spend a vacation at. We are experienced travelers and like to stay in clean , high quality small Inns or B&B's that are low key, comfortable and have accomodating and friendly owners. Shirley,... more

My wife and I had a wonderful four night stay at Casa Flamboyant for our wedding anniversary. We both love being outdoors, hiking, etc. and Casa Flamboyant was a great "base camp" to explore El Yunque and the eastern part of the island. Shirley is a fabulous hostess and great storyteller, and is more than willing to set up adventures,... more

Great little guesthouse on the South side of El Yunque. Extremely welcoming place, fantastic views, very nice rooms and bathrooms, semi-private patios with each room. Overall, we had a great experience. You can't beat the location! The place is a short walk away from a pleasant self-guided day-hike in the rainforest - with vistas, waterfalls, bamboo and coquis. The owner,... more
