Crystal Ripple Beach Lodge is definitely a place to "relax" -- because it's so far from everything that's all you can do! Taxis to town (2.5 miles) are $20 roundtrip (mind you, locals pay about $3.00 RT), and there is only one restaurant within walking distance (unless you go to Shaw Park Hotel and pay astronomical prices for a meal).... more

I think this hotel of 20 rooms is for the people coming to JA that are not looking for the tourist type environment. It is a few miles from downtown Ocho Rios and would have to pay $20 roundtrip per person to town, unless you are comfortable squeezing in the local taxis. Sine this was my 4th trip to JA... more
