This time we decided to add Dominican Republic to our travel map and indeed Riu was one of those we considered. This place is a big resort united with 4 other Riu properties. If you stay at Macao you can enjoy almost all of what the other four offer as well, while if you don't stay in Macao you can... more

Well, I would not be going to the DR anytime soon. From start to finish, the trip was not good. When we got to the airport (2 couples), they charged us $10 per person to enter the country. Then when we got on our bus to take us to our hotel, the driver got lost. The hotel actually looks great.... more

Have you ever been treated like you were a millionaire or a movie star? Not in our lifetimes...until we went on vacation to the Riu Palace Macao in Punta Cana. This was our first trip to the Dominican Republic. We based our resort choice on websites and reviews, coupled with price and bang for our buck, so to speak. We... more

I stayed at the Riu Palace Macao on July 6-13, 2008. I am a single, 35 year old female. I traveled alone because I wanted a truly relaxing vacation...and that is exactly what I had. I felt like a princess the entire time I was there. Airport: Quick, clean and easy. We landed at 10:00 am. The Apple tour guide... more

We just got back from the best holiday ever at the RIU Palace Maco. We went the week of July 13-20th. We have been to the RIU Taino, 5 years ago, and loved the atmosphere, the people and of course the beach & water and wanted to try another RIU. This was our 4th trip to DR and would love... more

My husband and I were married July 1, 2008 at the Riu Palace Macao. We knew we wanted a beach wedding and we couldn’t have asked for more… the entire day was perfect! As a bride I found it difficult to find out information about a destination wedding, what needed to be done and what to expect so I decided... more

The room service which is 24 hours is amazing. We came back from a trip to Sona island and didnt fancy getting changed for dinner and ordered... more

Making this our 4th trip to this hotel we invited some friends to go with us. We assured them this was a great hotel. Well things can change in one year, the resort as slipped downward. To start there was no air condition in any of the rooms. It seemed to us there was less staff. On a good note... more

This resort has received many recent reviews so I don't want to repeat what has been already stated- Everything positive that is written about the hotel common areas, beach and service is totally accurate. As you walk around the resort, you truly feel like you are their most important guest in paradise. The staff goes above and beyond, remembering small... more
