We are a family of 4 who have just returned from the Decameron and LOVED it. The food was excellent the rooms were clean and new. The pools were pristine and the grounds were beautifully taken care of. The highlights are: Great food in several different restaurants, you just have to make reservations in the mornings Delicious pina colada's sitting... more

Travelled to the Decameron Beach Hotel in November 2004 for the US Thanksgiving holiday. A really amazing all-inclusive with flights deal from New York/JFK for $380.00 pp/return. Optimistic since we love the Dominican Republic. Honestly, we're not fussy travellers, but the Decameron Beach Hotel is one of the few places we wouldn't return to--formerly a Barcelo, and unfortunately it's now... more

We stayed here New Year's 2005. Paid $1300 per person for a week. EVERYTHING was just awful. WIthout going into too much detail, the room (we changed quite a few), the beds, broken TV (promised to fix it--never happened), no phone, no towels (every single day we had to use our sheets instead of towels), no hot water (almost the... more

Oh My goodness. Iam an Optimist...but this place got worse every 12 hours. I went on a short vacation Jan 26 - 30 2005. It was the worst "resort" I have ever been to. They say u get what u paid for but no one deserves this. The beach had a dull feeling, the water had large trees in it,... more

I have been to many caribbean islands and the DR is by far the friendliest. The Decameron is a solid 3 star resort. Lots of food, rooms are OK - how long do you spend in the room anyway! and the staff are great. What the hotel lacks in amenities (no tennis balls, bicycles are broken, only 1 specialty restaurant),... more

We have just returned from the Decameron after a two week stay. Overall, we were satisfied with the resort considering it was such a good price when we booked. The rooms are very large with large balconies. The resort grounds were nice. I was disappointed with the beach, the water was murky and not that nice blue color that we've... more

Just got back last week from the Decameron Club & Casino; One word that discribes this place “Discus ting!” The food was horrible; I got sick on the third night and was throwing up until four the next morning. The bathrooms were full of mildew and the tile was always sticky, plus they only give you two towels a day.... more

We vacationed at the Decameron June 26 to July 3 This is not a bad resort for the price. We are a blended family of 6 and had a great time. The beach is very clean and there are some stones and seaweed. The vendors are a pain and you should tell them from the start to leave you alone.... more

Vacationed from April 7th-14th with my husband and 2 children(5 and 8) at the Decameron Beach and Casino Hotel. The hotel was rated 3 stars, and probably deserved that rating. We have travelled pretty extensively to other countries and were skeptical of all the bad reviews. However, pretty much all the reviews I read online were accurate(good and bad). It... more
