We stayed @ Dickenson Bay Cottages from 06/02-06/09/2007 and I must say it was one of the best Caribbean vacations we have had. The cottages are wonderful. You feel like you never left home. We loved the lay out of the cottages and everything was so comfy not like a generic cramped hotel room. They had wonderful cook wear, utensils,... more
We checked out accomodation around Antigua and felt this offered us what we were looking for. We weren't disappointed as the cottages were clean, spacious and well looked after with good kitchen and bathroom facilities and a very comfortable bed. The pool area was always very quiet and secluded. The only downside was a 10 minute steep walk down to... more
Not bad at all - small apartment type accommodation with basic kitchen. Balcony (in the upstairs apartments) and pool, all clean and everything worked. Quiet and relaxed with nice garden. No restaurant onsite but plenty by the beach (The Beach bar/restaurant does great food and good value). There is a walk down to the beach but the extra you'd have... more
We went to Antigua for the house-warming party of friends who have built their own house near Dickinson Bay, so we didn't want the whole resort package with meals and drinks. We booked an apartment at Dickinson Bay cottages (once part of the Rex Halcyon hotel nearby) with crossed fingers and figured that our friends were nearby if it wasn't... more
We, a couple, stayed for 8 nights December-January. The location is fine (with a car), good restaurants within easy reach, the quality of the accommodation is comfortable, modern and well kept. We could have had (and were having) a great time until the arrival of two brat families from Bristol, England - the brats were the fathers and the children.... more
Dickenson Bay Cottages (DBC) are budget loft-style apartments which are a five minute walk to Dickenson Bay, one of the nicer beaches in Antigua. We loved the location, the pool (usually empty of people), the full kitchens, and the air conditioning. The hotel was quiet when we there, with the one exception when the sailors descend on DB at the... more
We stayed at the Dickenson Bay Cottages from 4th to 28th Jan and loved every minute. Our cottage was set right by the pool and lived up to all expectations. Lovely comfy beds, clean and airy and spacious living area. I would like to point out that there is a steep hill between these cottages and the beach. It wasnt... more
Keeping in mind that the rates are very low compared to beachside hotels, this is a pretty good deal. Our one-bedroom cottage (all the "cottages" are actually attached condo units, not freestanding cottages) was spacious, with a mini-fridge and 4 burner range/oven & microwave. Upstairs was a bathroom and sleeping loft with queen bed. The grounds were lovely, and it... more
Have just come back from two weeks staying at the Cottages. For the time of year and having looked around I know that we couldn't have choosen anywhere better. Cottages are extremely well maintained as are the pool area and the gardens. Staff are friendly and go out of their way to ensure you have a good time. For the... more
