I first stayed at Ryokan Shigetsu in 1997, with my most recent stay in 2007. In my experience, the Shigetsu is clean, comfortable, has a terrific location, and is reasonable in cost. The staff is very friendly and speak fluent English. I haven't found a better place to stay in Tokyo. more

Stayed here for 4 nights in July 2008 with my 2 teenage boys in a "triple" Japanese style room. Tiny and noisy room (#201). Our 3 futons were literally wedged wall to wall . We stayed at the Ryokan Asakusa Shigetsu for 5 nights. It is in a great location (near Senso-ji Temple and a short walk from the subway). The staff was friendly and helpful.
