I have been to the Atlanta History Center three times and find something new each time I am there. One can easily spend at least four hours there exploring. I love the fact that it's so many things in one--a well thought out mueseum, 2 historical sites/houses to tour, a lovely southern restaurant, and beautiful gardens to tour. I rarely... more

We did this museum near the end of our 17 day tour of Georgia and learn more here than anywhere else. We spent 5 hours here and could have spent longer. There is a lot to see. Don't miss the Swan house. more

My husband and I were here on February 16, 2008. This is a very educational and informative place. It takes a while to see everything so have plenty of time. The best part for us was seeing Swan House, the farm and eating at the Swan Coach House. more

The History Center was really nice, ESPECIALLY on a Friday. There was no one there. [--] The Ben Franklin exhibit is there for only a little while longer to October 14. So if you are interested in seeing that GO! It is kind of a once in a lifetime sort of thing because there are so many different pieces from... more

My fourteen-year-old daughter and I spent a nice half-day here and could have spent more time, if we had planned for it. We were very impressed with the museum exhibits, which were quite extensive. We had to rush through some of the exhibits, as we had not planned to spend much time here and there was quite a lot to... more

I didn't know much about this museum before I went. I'm not a huge history buff but do like to visit what various cities offer and like to learn about them. I've been to a lot of museums and I thought this one was really well done. There is a lot to see for the entrance fee. We went on... more

Spent the afternoon at the Atlanta History Center in Buckhead. It occupies 32 wooded acres with walking trails and gardens. I saw the exhibit on Atlanta history and the War Between the States. Lots of video kiosks and artifacts. I signed up here for tours of the Tullie Smith Farm and the Swan House. The major permanent exhibit, "Metropolitan Frontiers:... more

The Atlanta History Center provided great information regarding – what else – Atlanta’s history. The "Metropolitan Frontiers" permanent exhibit was an excellent way to learn of the birth of the great city and the changes since then. Eating at the Coca-Cola Café felt just as it would have fifty years ago at the local diner. (Note: Don’t eat during peak... more
