This is a very diverse place, it's hard to put a finger on what exactly you are looking for. I came here looking for John Brown's Fort, which is one of the most famous spots. But also, there is a Civil War story be told, a story of the arsenol, the story of the Niagara Movement, and Thomas Jefferson's view.... more

It is amazing that so much history is tied together at Harpers Ferry. Historical figures such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Robert E. Lee and of course John Brown all have links to this historic spot. The National Park Service has done a great job of preserving the past. After you park at the visitor center you take a shuttle... more

There is nothing for kids to do the were bored and wanted to leave. And as far as the shuttles from the vistors center the drivers were rude and not very friendly. If you are old and like this kinda of stuff , fine but do your kids a favor and don't punish them with this trip. more

We boarded a bus at the Visitor's Center and were taken to the "Lower Town". The three of us and one other person were on the bus. The buses leave every 10 minutes from 8:00 a.m. to after 5:00 p.m., so it's easy to get there and get out. If you have a problem with walking, then you'll have a... more

Interpretative tours. Living history exhibits. Cultural displays. Engaging conversation. An experience to remember. The National Park Service has outdone itself with its presentation at the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. My family and I have been to Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Badlands, Gettysburg, and the Arch, just to name a few. Clearly, Harpers Ferry is included in the list of top... more
