I took family visiting from San Diego down to see the bridge. The visitors center is in really good shape and they are keeping the grounds in great shape. There are tons of picnic areas all around the visitor center. The walk down to the overlook to get the best view of the bridge is a LOT of steps. I... more

We stopped at the New River Gorge Visitor Center on our way from OH to FL. The view is excellent and worth the stop. There is a great view of the river from the back of the visitor center in addition to the walking trail outside. We took the steps down to the look out point with three smalls boys... more

This had to be one of the highlights of our trip. You just have to see the view. From the Visitors Center, there is a walkway that you must take to view the gorge. It's a lot of steps-- Please do not attempt if you are of poor health--and the walk back up is very tiring, but the view is... more
