“Good quick stop at this Georgian style mansion”

We made a quick stop to see the Hampton Plantation on our way to Myrtle Beach. It was interesting to walk through the house and the $4 admission was reasonable. I would advise bringing bug/mosquito repellent because I got some awful bites even for the short time we were there. more

Guide was very good.... not too much detail but just enough. Would like to see inside the kitchen building though. Thanks for the cutaway to see how the ballroom ceiling was constructed. So glad the state has maintained this beautiful home and grounds. more

Although unfurnished, the historical Hampton Plantation is a great stop between Charleston and the Georgetown-MB area. The house is one of those "off the beaten path" sights - it is perfect for "old house" lovers. The cost to see the house is a bargain since it is a state park, and there are lots of photo opportunities. Also recommended in... more
