If your legs can withstand the many, many somewhat rickety stairs it is worth a visit to climb all the way to exclaimation point. Chimney Rock Park is where many scenes from Last of the Mohicans were filmed. The trails are more than you could ask for as far as construction-for-safety goes, and the scenery and physical endurance are breath-taking. more

Yes, the drive is a bit twisty and the climb could be strenuous for the out of shape but... do it !! Definitely worth the effort. We stayed in a hotel that was about a half hour drive to the park. The road was very curvy, but once we got to the top, the view was absolutely gorgeous. Would definitely go to again. more

besides the fact that it was REALLY cold out-Chimney Rock park was still fun. There are great photo opps as well. My favourite thing to do was the Needle's eye which is a narrow staircase sandwiched between the rocks. The trails are fun and a good adventure for families. (not so much for the adventurous) more

I wouldn't consider Chimney Rock Park worth the money. Basically, there are 5 trails to hike and an elevator to take you to the top of Chimney Rock to look at the view. There is also a waterfall you can hike to. I had a BOGO coupon, so my husband and I didn't pay too much to see the park.... more
