A great atrractions that takes you back to the great Motown sound. From Berry Gordons piano in the studio, to the actual notes on the secratary's desk. We visited the Hitsville home of Motown in July 2005 and it is a lasting memory. The person that stated that the guide rushed them through did not have our guide! We went there the week before Memorial Day. I enjoyed learning more about the history Motown. It was as thrill to sing and dance in the Studio at the end of the tour. I wished I had understood that this (the Studio) was one of the areas where pictures were allowed. Also, loved the film they show at the beginning... more

If you were allowed to take the tour on your own it would be much. much better. The tour guide ran through the museum and would not give you any time to view the displays. Very unimpressed more

I visited Detroit (too?) many times before I got round to this visit. It was quite the emotional experience: Standing in Studio A thinking this is where it happened, this is where they were. If the music, or the memory of it, means anything to you then this is a place not to be missed. more

Happily, the facilities are much the same as they were when The Supremes, The Temps and Mary Wells walked the hallways and waited for their turns at recording. It is a time capsule and a historical document, for several reasons.
