This was an amazing experience from beginning to end. In an era of high gas prices and unending traffic congestion, the wine train takes you back to a different time when comfort and good service were the norm during a trip. It's the best way to travel if you're not in a hurry and you want to enjoy your surroundings... more

I have twice ridden the lunchtime wine train with my husband, and it was a trip highlight on both vacations. This is a beautiful environment, with pretty good food. I highly recommend the Vista car - it's significantly more elevated and the larger windows give great views. My husband and I really enjoyed the look and feel of the train... more

We held our wedding reception in the Vista Dome Car and it could not have been a better experience for our guests. Both the food and the ambience were wonderful. The staff went out of our way to take care of our party and could not have been more accomodating. We'd been on the train before and knew it was... more

The Vista Dome Lunch provides a glimpse of what luxury railcar travel must have been like in the early 20th century. The booths along each window seat either two or four diners and are beautifully appointed with starched white linen tablecloths and silver flatware. As the train pulls away from the station there are a few minutes of mundane urban... more

Not worth the time or money spent. Napa Valley is so wonderful that it is silly to spend the time on this tourist trap. Food is nothing special. Check out Del Dotto winery for a cool day trip. more

We really did not have much interest in doing this supposed tourist trap, but needed to entertain an elderly somewhat immobile guest and thought this would be a good idea. We all had a GREAT time. It was thoroughly enjoyable! The food was great, our server was a doll and made the trip even more fun. W\e did bring our... more

My husband and I saw this on one of the television travel shows. It sounded great, but it was a real letdown once we experienced it. There is an early check-in and a long wait before we boarded. The food was below average, and the wine was forgettable. It looked like pre-made food, and the trip itself was this lame,... more

A very enjoyable tourist attraction. The trip for me, was a bit embarrassing as a California resident. The Graffiti and backyard neglect along the city section of the excursion paint a poor picture of the Napa Valley and northern California in general. Additionally, a bit of structural correction is desperately needed in the track bed. The cars pitch and rock... more

The food was fantastic and presented beautifully. Our tour of Grnwich Hills Winery was excellant. The selection of wines tasted was perfect. Well worth the price. We took the luncheon trip, however the dinner menu was the same and portions very filling. The view was average. One side of the train looks mostly at the highway, however the other side... more
