Enjoyed the Spa very much. Had to make some reservation changes at the last minute and adjust perferences - Mark came through like a champ. Mud was the best ever. Massage was great and the massage specialist very friendly. Time flew by. Renewed both my body and attitude. Will return on my next trip to the valley. more

Just back from an afternoon at Willkinson's. Having had a mudbath at my last visit, I decided to pass on that one and opted for mineral baths, a facial and a massage. There are 3 mineral baths - 2 outdoor pools of varying temperatures and one indoor, very hot one (105 degrees). The massage was OK - not the best... more

What an experience!! The place is rather industrial. The main room looks like a high school locker room. They have taken a very large room and have partitioned sections off for changing, bathing and massaging - very effective but not luxurious. Didn't care - services were wonderful. The staff is no-nonsense but friendly. I was naked or wrapped in blanket/towel... more

We actually did not stay at Dr. Wilks (we stayed at the Pink Mansion, which was wonderful!), but we tried to get treatments at their spa. After the warm treatment we received throughout our stay in Calistoga, we were very disappointed by the surliness of the employees here. I definitely recommend other options in town...there are so many great spas,... more

Wow. If everyone on the planet could just get "The Works" every week or so, there would be no more war. Yes, the spa does have a bit of an "old high school gym locker room" decor. But when there are two cucumber slices over your eyes, and a chilled cloth on top of that, you can't see your surroundings... more

We went to Dr. Wilkinson's today. We both got "The Works" -- mud bath, mineral whirlpool, blanket wrap -- and I got a 1 hour massage too. I really enjoyed the mud. It's got peat in it too, which (I was told by some guy in a store in Calistoga) is what makes you more buoyant in it. I haven't... more

This was a totally unique and wonderful experience. The spa itself is not a place of luxury and the services are simple and cheap. We did 'The Works' and had the mud baths, whirlpool mineral bath, steam room, warm wrap and massage. The services themselves are worth the trip - you haven't lived till you've floated in mud - but... more

Try a mud bath while in Calistoga. There are several spas offering "mud bath" packages; we choose Dr. Wilkerson's for its old school feeling. For $119 we got a 1/2 hour soak in a tub of mud, volcanic ash and peat; 1/2 hour soak in a claw footed tub filled with mineral water and lavendar; a visit to the steam... more

I have been to Calistoga about a dozen times, but this was my first visit to DW's. DW's is a modest well-appointed spa, with a slightly retro feel. As noted in some other reviews, there are "cinder block" structures--but this is not an appropriate description. The main buildings are a "cinder brick" construction appropriate for the area and every building... more
