Yes, the scenery is lovely, but it is so, so much better down near Yangshou. The boat trip (even if you pay extra for 'luxury') is on one of those hideous dining boats that someone's parents hire for end of school dance - or even more sadly, for weddings. You are inside a large bus stuffed with package tourists. You... more

The Li river tour boat is very comfortable and in its 2 1/2 hour trip to downstream town, you will see various wonderful landscapes. The design of Chinese 20 yuan is from one of the landscapes of the Li river. The tour starts around 10:00 and lunch is served on board. But real feast is without doubt the awsome mountains... more
