I went to Singapore last year and will be there again this year. Orchard road I found to be fantastic. There is so much to see and buy. A shoppers paradise. I must say that for me personally (coming from a relatively underurbanized city) that Orchard Road is great. Of course the food is excellent; but if you are going to Singapore for Orchard Road, why bother to go? We have such types of strips here in the U.S. You will have much more memorable experiences to go to the parts... more

I found Orchard Road to be a bit depressing in a ritzy way (too much luxury, too little personality) but I liked Takashimaya dept. store.
