easily accesible by MTR. i'd say the cable car ride is the highlight of this attraction. we went on a weekday to avoid the crowds, and got a cable car all to ourselves. spectacular views of the airport, and lantu island, we went in and out of cloud covered peaks, pretty neat. we didnt see the shows due to lack... more

April 2008 - visited the world's tallest outdoor seated bronze Buddha atop Ngong Ping plateau - we did not do the tour via the Hotel travel agent , but did it on our own, as it is far cheaper with the bus and the MTR. There is also a beautiful village within walking distance called Ngong Ping Village with restaurants... more

We took the MTR to the cable car and bought a round trip ticket. The ride was beautiful, but a bit long, and at one point the car stopped for about 15 minutes - due to engineering issues - not something you want to hear when you're hanging in a box. The Buddha statue is really something - its huge ! 259 steps up to the top ! Unfortunately we went when it was raining and sometimes the head got covered in the mist and fog. It would be even more amazing in the sunshine I am sure ! The cable car ride takes about 35 mins to the top across... more

This attraction has only been open a month or two so the queues were HUGE - 1 hr 45mins to be precise! Once you finally get into a cable car, the views are amazing. The ride takes about 20 minutes and goes up really high onto the hill. Once you are up there, there is a very touristy shopping village... more
