It is worth visiting this square twice: by day as the starting point of a trip to city park, the nearby galleries, zoo or Szechenyi Baths; and by night, when it is spectacularly illuminated, as a fine conclusion to a stroll up Andrassy ut. after dinner. more

This is a must do in Budapest, even though it's quite a simple place. The statues give a history of the city. We got there first thing in the morning around 8:30 and there wasn't another soul in the square. After that we walked around in the City Park located behind the square and took a look at the Szcehenyi... more

The Square is awe-inspiring and the statues provide a great tour of Hungarian notables across the centuries. The location is also great - near to City Park, two art museums, Szechenyi baths, the Zoo, the Fun Park and Gundel restaurant. more

A place to have a stroll and appreciate some of the history, through the heroes' of the square. Not as grand or spectacular as other 'squares' in some cities, but still worth a visit. 30 minutes is sufficient. We linked this with a stroll down Andressey Utca and a visit to the Zoo, which resulted in a very pleasant day... more
