The old town square in Prague features a number of interesting attractions and is worth a visit. Old Town Square is just that - a square flanked by buildings, churches, and many shops and restaurants. There's a large statue on one side of it and the Astrological Clock on the Town Hall building. There is not much to see here. Definitely see the clock. Also see St. Nicholas' Church for a small donation. Also check out the medieval courtyard at the opposite end of the square from the clock. Just back from the market, not the greatest but the atmosphere was wonderful and worth the trip, The cobbles all around the area mean boots or trainers are the required footwear move away into the small winding side streets for the very best in food and beer prices. Its well worth experiencing Old Town Square. Make sure that you explore all the streets around and find all the nooks and crannys - there are some fab bars and shops to be found away from the main tourist areas. Food and drink on the square is expensive, and you don't have to go far to find more authentic fare.... more
