We visited the Cathedral in Speyer in December 2007 and were impressed with the detail that went into the construction of this building. Each tile has been placed so delicately, no wonder it took over 100 years to build it. Very nicely located in the old center of Speyer, great access to a big parking lot. I am not an expert on cathedrals but this is a real gem! The cathedral is beautiful on the outside but is also lovely,open and bright on the inside. The burial grounds beneath the cathedral aren't dark and damp and are well marked and maintained. This cathedral would be reason enough to consider visiting the lovely town of Speyer. more
