My husband and I were in Turin for vacation and spent several hours at the National Cinema Museum. We had a Torino + Piedmont Card so admission was free. Wow. I have been living here for 4 months and this is the first time I visited this museum. I did not expect much from it since I thought the museum was about the history of Italian movie. But when I entered I was amazed. The museum covers from the history and technology of film to poster of comtemporary films.... more

The Mole Antonelliana boasts being the highest museum in the world (167 metres). A combined ticket which also includes a panoramic lift running through the centre of the building can be bought. The Mole Antonelliana was built in the 19th century, to become Turin's great synagogue. It now hosts the National Museum of Cinema, which is reviewed as a separate attraction. This site is definatle a MUST see while you're in Turin. The museum has many different exibits that explore the history of film that are out of this world. To top it all off there is also an elevator that will take you to the top of the old cathedral to show you a view of the city.... absolutely breath... more
