The Museum was spectacular... But the cafe service (AROLA) was terrible: more than 30 min in line (I was number 4) to get a sandwich and a soda. Only one person taking orders. It was disgusting to see a man putting an order of potato chips with his hands without gloves instead of any type of cutlery. more

If you're keen on modern art then you'll love the Reina Sofia. As more of a classic art fan, I was in there for no more than an hour and much of that time was spent enjoying the sun in the leafy and very pretty courtyard. The highlight for me was undoubtedly Guernica and it was for that reason alone... more

Absolutely loved the Museo Reina Sofia -- it was so much better than the Prado! We were there in June 2006. . .sangria and soccer (the world cup was going on) every afternoon. more

We visited Madrid 13th to 16th September 2006, simply to get our first taste of this wonderful city. We will certainly be back for more. As time was short, we restricted ourselves to what we thought was the famous stuff by Picasso and Dali. Whilst we are clearly not Art lovers, we knew what to expect from these Artists, but... more

Excellent museum - with all the great painters of Spain. WE did go on a Sunday and had no problem - and its FREE on sundays but the opening times ar short 10-14.30. On saturday its FREE from 2.30pm - 21.00pm. Its a great place. Don`t miss more

If you like modern art, be sure to save an afternoon for a visit to the Reine Sofia. In addition to the permanent collection which contains many familiar pieces by Miro, Dali, and Picasso (i.e. the Guernica), there are many other gems to be seen. We particularly enjoyed the current temporary exhibit by Schlosser. Make sure you give yourself plenty... more

The Reina Sofia was the highlight of my visit to Madrid. If you want a treat on modern/contemporary art, then walk around and give yourself plenty of time to soak in the inspiring works! Of course, Picasso's Guernica is there too, which is probably what draws the crowd. But don't not leave without seeing what Spain has done with art... more

A must for every art loving visitor, a wonderful permanent collection... Miro, Picasso, Dali....... and a nice view of Madrid from the glass lift !!! more
