Normally we book very modern accomodation but these apartments were recommended to us by some friends who have been for the last 6 years or so. Just had our second trip to La Carihuela in July / August 2007. This place is wonderful, not overly British / German, still quite Spanish with proper shops (Baker, Fishmonger etc) and excellent restaurants - Casa Juan is excellent and set mainly outside in a square. just back from a week at Santa Clara, good location,reasonable clean accommodation, but as we were on the ground floor we were plagued by wild cats outside the room. We have just spent a week in Apartments Plaza Mar in La Carihuela. Lovely though small apartments,cleaned daily except mondays with a beautiful view of beach and sea. Carihuela is a lovely part of the coast to visit, the beach is very clean and there is plenty to do. There are loads of little shops along the beachfront to browse in. La Carihuela has one of the cleanest and nicest beaches in Torremolinos. There are nice traditional houses and the area itself is very picturesque.
