Nymphenberg Palace was the summer palace of the Wittelbach's, the ruling family of Bavaria. It is really easy to get to, you just hop on the tram and there is a stop right in front of the Palace. When you go make sure you get the combination ticket that allows you entrance to the palace itself and also several buildings... more

This is a beautiful area of the attraction that is not to be missed. This lion is only one of the many magnificent sculptures adorning the grounds. The collection of sleighs, carriages and porcelain are not to be missed.... more

During the summer of 2001, I visited this beautiful castle. As if almost from a dream, it is so ridiculously beautiful and amazing. The tour of the castle was extremely informative and interesting. Highly recommended to anyone who happens to be in the Munich area. more

You might be disappointed to find that this Palace and its adjoining Hunting Lodge are in the Munich suburbs - but they are absolutely worth the journey ! Do you think of gothic spectral horrors and dank northern gloom when you think of Germany ? Not here ! If you wanted to build a light and airy palace, this is... more
