What a great shop. Old building just crammed with super quality cookware. This the place to pick up that copper Mauviel piece you have been wanting to get. It was one of the highlights of going to Paris....Do it if you are anyway into cooking. more

E. Dehillerin is such a unique place to shop for cookware, etc. Happy to say that this was not a Williams-Sonoma mall store type shopping experience where they literally follow you around the store and annoy you with their fake politeness. While shopping at Dehillerin, I had asked one of the assistants to check on a price for me. While... more

Yes, the place is old, and yes it's dusty and yes, the staff can be a little on the harsh side. HOWEVER, it is an experience that every passionate cook should have. I just loved the store. Just the fact that Julia Child was a regular was enough for me to want to see it. The fact that it's old... more

The prospect of shopping at E. Dehillerin was intimidating to me as I'd heard the clerks could be a bit gruff. As soon as we entered, Kim quashed that notion with his charm and personality. We had quite a conversation about copper bowls for egg whites, Julia Child and whips. I will think of him as I use my new... more

Kim was very helpful to us on our "pilgrimage" to Dehillerin. He could not think of the term in English for cleaning out a pan without washing it, once it's seasoned, and gestured. I said "Wipe out?" He agreed and this led to a discussion of various meanings of "Wipe Out", including when surfers fall beneath the waves. He said... more

I have been visiting E. Dehillerin every few months now for the past 1.5 years. If I look like I'm browsing, most the staff don't come up to help me. But Kim, he ALWAYS takes the time to answer any questions I have. He gives the best information. too. Kim is the Asian guy. And the prices there ARE better... more

As a flight attendant who worked Paris flights for many years, I have explored this shop on many occasions. I started bringing back copper cookware one piece at a time when the Franc was still being used. I am retired now & have just about everything....just about! I highly recommend a visit to this shop...Please ask for KIM... He's a... more

Any bad reviews of this place are from people who don't know how to cook! If you love to cook believe the hype and go, just not on Saturday. Ask for Frank, he will take care of you!! Prices might not be cheap but a lot of times you get what you pay for. Budget big for this one and... more

Went to Dehillerin in October. I'm from a family of cooks and it was a rare treat. It IS like a cookery warehouse and with an incredible array of fine and hard to get cookery. I bought a huge chef's knife, a collapsible bread pan, a copper saute pan and long cooking fork. I felt the prices were more than... more
