My wife and I visited the Montreal Botanical Gardens in late June 2008 and enjoyed the experience thoroughly! Top three experiences: 1) Chinese Garden, 2) Alpine Garden, & 3) exhibition garden. We've yet to visit a botanical garden that was better than this. The restaurant provided a welcome respite at midday for lunch and mid-afternoon for a break. (The panini... more

A beautiful layout and well groomed plots is what you will find when you visit the Botanical Gardens. One of the largest gardens in the world, it is truly a spectacular sight! I especially recommend the rose garden, Chinese Garden and the area surrounding the lilacs and pond. A free train/shuttle goes through the garden dropping off and picking up... more

Hello Fellow Travellers We were lucky enough to be visiting Montreal Quebec when the Botanical Gardens were hosting the "Chinese Lantern Light Show". What a delightful experience it was. The show was held in the latter half of October, 2007. The evening that we went to see the show it was a beautiful fall night. The Lantern show was spectacular... more

I just had a 4 day vacation to the lovely and rommantic city of Montréal, Quebec. First off, I'd like to say that Montréal is a very inviting francophone city and has a lot to offer. The botanical is fantastic. I know a lot of us when we go places, don't want to do the touristy thing and want to... more

The Montreal Botanical Garden is supposed to be the second largest botanical garden after Kew Garden in London. There is a lot to see in it and there are really many, many highlights: the quiet Japanese Garden, the Chinese Garden with its beautiful view, the enourmous greenhouse with the very rare Wollemi Pine (behind bars!), the bonsai garden, and so... more

fantastic place- makes the NY botanical gardens look like amateur night. Spent over 4 hours ans bring lots of film. The Chinese and Japanese gardens are great, almost like being in Asia.- The greenhouse with orchids, cacti etc. is unbelievable. The bonsai collection is incredible. Free tram to get you around. Cheap at $16- they need to raise the price!!! more

My husband and I bought a combo Biodome/Botanical Gardens pass and took a free shuttle from the Biodome to the Botanical Gardens. The Botanical Gardens are HUGE and extremely beautiful. It seems that there is every type of flower here. There is a large rose garden with roses of every color. A Chinese garden, a Japanese garden, a vegetable patch,... more

We spent several days in Montreal and after reviewing great reviews online, we said we must go to the Botanical Gardens. We were not dissappointed. Early July was quite sunny and hot in Quebec..and this urban oasis was just the ideal location to hit after several days exploring Old Montreal, The Jazz Festival, the Underground City and Downtown.... Were from... more

Life-changing experiences are far & few between. I was lucky enough today to have had one of the most amazing I have ever had ! The Garden of the Senses at the Botanical Gardens in Montreal is modest in size compared to other parts of the huge Gardens, but makes up for it by changing you forever ! My friend... more
