I agree with the previous review about isla verde being an urban beach- it's the metropolitan areas locals beach. But if you're really a beach bum- i completely disagree with his alternate recommendations- rincon, and isabela are very rough beaches- people go there to surf. If you want beautiful, calm water and great views go to Luquillo, about 30 min.... more

We just got back from staying 5 days in a condo on this beach and it is truly the most wonderful beach to have right out your door. The sand is white, soft and still good for sand castle building.
