The Birchwood is owned by two Englishmen (life partners), one of whom has been detained in England due to an immigration issue. The inn reflects the owners' provenance, effectively simulating a small home somewhere within the English countryside, complete with a miniature "pub", dartboard, and many Anglo knick-knacks.
