The carpeting in our room was stained in several places, and one of our two beds sagged terribly in the middle. There were what appeared to be cigarette burns in our bedspread, even though we were in a non-smoking room. When we complained to the front desk staff, they seemed to shrug off everything we'd said. Otherwise, it was a... more
Don't be afraid! After reading the reviews of John Ascuaga's Nugget on here, I was dreading a business trip to this hotel for a convention. I travel frequently for work and have stayed in some of the best and worst hotels in America and many which fall right into the middle. When I read the reviews, I was terrified. Rude... more
I have been dealing with the Quality Inn in Sparks Nevada for several months on a professional and personal level. Some of our healthcare professionals whom are coming inn from out of town stay almost on a weekly basis here when they are working in town and never have I received a single complaint. From my own experience, I find... more
I wanted to write a review for this hotel because I stayed there even after I read the very scary reviews I saw on this site. I recently stayed at John Ascuaga's Nugget for National Association of Professional Organizers conference. In January I started to read reviews on this & other sites about this hotel & was very skeptical about... more
So.. this is my first hotel stay review. I really liked the hotel. I travel for business about 50% of the time, I really enjoyed my stay at the FFI in Reno/Sparks. I stayed in room 124 - and it was fabulous. On the first floor next to an unused conference room, the room was perfect -- quiet and spacious... more
This was one of the worse hotels we have ever stayed at! We had a room in the Nugget Courtyard. What a joke. The elevators reminded us of the Bates hotel. The doors open before the elevator stopped. The rooms were very outdated! Since we had a child with us we usually take turns gambling but since I would have... more
There are several threads about their bad experiences in this hotel's reservation. I didn't think I would be so unlucky before this trip, now I know I will never go back to this hotel. What happened: 1. We booked the most expensive room in this hotel, but the hotel staff told me we got the cheapest one. We showed them... more
Once a month the Nugget is my home away from home while I visit my family in Reno. The staff is most hospitable, courteous, and considerate to my needs and those of my grandchildren. One of the many reasons I stay at the Nugget is their beautiful indoor pool which my grandchildren take full advantage of during my stays. The... more
We have stayed at the Silver Club three times. Two times I had no complaints. The price is right. The third time, I couldn't close the curtain, and it was very cold in the room. We called down stairs and they moved us to a different room, and that room was fine. On the third stay, I was wondering if... more
the Nugget is my favorite place to stay. It has everything under one roof. It has the loosest slot any where. I usually come home with a thousand.M y room are compt. I am goin Mar. 21 -24 for my birthday. I get a three day stay, $25 to spend anywhere in the Nugget and $30 free slot play. I... more
Good ol' greasy burgers. We usually come here for the shakes. More flavors than you can shake a stick at. more
Anybody looking to stay here, heed the earlier reviews! Hotel is currently under rennovation and is becoming a Holiday Inn. Until that happens, go somewhere else. Rooms are old, dirty, smelly. The area of town is bad and the noise from the interstate is overpowering. Front desk clerk told me they were becoming a "Full service Holiday Inn" and are... more
Real food! Occasionally the home fries are a little undercooked but they still beat the frozen hash browns crap you get most everywhere else by a country mile. Thick meaty bacon, home style bread (toast) and good old-fashioned cups of joe are standard fare. Best breakfast in town! more
Fabulous food, cozy atmosphere and great staff. The best eggrolls I've ever had - and I don't even like eggrolls. more
The best Chili Cheese Omelette in the world. As a matter of fact, when I was there, the Sparks City Mayor, Gino Martini was there with his wife Ruth. Good Job Guys! more
Unremarkable but decent enough motel room. Had everything I needed for a quiet rest. View of the pond and brilliant sunrise to the east was a delightful morning surprise. Try to get second or third floor room facing the eastern mountains. The property caters to nomadic one-night motorists (4-wheel and 18-wheel) and locals. Casino is a trip back to the... more
I was at the Nugget for a conference, and it was a great location. I didn't even need to rent a car because there was so much to do on the property. The restaurants were all very good and provided plenty of variety. more
I've stayed here twice, and it's just gotten worse and worse. When I arrived this year, I was told that the room I had booked with 2 queen beds for 3 people was not available and that they were sold out for the entire weekend. I was told I could check in the morning and see if one had become... more
The sheets were dirty and it took the desk clerk an hour to bring us clean sheets. The facilities were decrepit and noisy. Overall, I cannot recommend this facility for other fine tripadvisor travelers. But then, it is a motel 6, and we stopped in the middle of a snow storm and they had a room. But then, on the... more
