Before coming to Yangshou we booked another Hotel in the town. But after extensive research on TripAdvisor we cancelled the other reservation and booked Yangshou Mountain Retreat. Big mistake! Yangshuo used to be a nice sleepy little village until the river boat trips down the Li Jiang, originating in Guilin, became popular. Now it's a destination town for day trippers, outdoor adventure be it water, bicycle or climbing as well as general tourism. I absolutely loved my stay at the Yangshuo mountain retreat. I stayed there for 6 nights in late September. I booked a Deluxe double room with river views and balcony through the hotels website. The booking process was easy and troule free. You need to provide credit card details and they charge your card at the time of booking. I... more
