Paudimar Hostel

Sep 28, 2008

Paudimar Campestre is an HI hostel that´s a bit out of the main city but really close to the falls. As a result be prepared to eat dinner from the really minimalistic menu! The cains are pretty good, it does get chilly in the nights so we had to put on the heating. The hostel is clean and comfortable and... more

This is a great value hotel. No frills stay but has a few good places to eat nearby. For me it's location is great as it is near the pubic bus station to get transport to the Iguacu Falls, both on the Brazil side , and the bus to Argentina. For price performace it cannot really be faulted as it... more

I've stayed for 3 nights at Bourboun Cataratas for a convention, and I really enjoyed my stay. Rooms are confortable (although I agree that the decoration is very 80's!) and the staff is friendly and polite. I really apreciated the "ecotrail" they have, where you can exercise, or simply go for a pleasant walk. For the kids, they have a... more

Hotel das Cataratas

The Cataratas Hotel is the only hotel located within the Brazilian part of the Iguacu Falls park itself, which meant we were able to access the viewing areas before the park opened to the tourist hordes. In fact we had the falls to ourselves: early morning sunshine, rainbow in the spray and all. The staff were very helpful. And contrary... more

San Martin Hotel & Resort

Sep 18, 2008

San Martin Hotel is located within a few minutes' walk to the entrance of the Brazil side of the Iguacu Falls park. Although the location was wonderful and the resort grounds look lovely, I would not recommend this place as a base point for travelers who wish to see the falls. Foz do Iguacu is only about a 40 minute... more

Let's make it simple: there is ONE hotel by the Iguassu falls. The main point of going to Iguassu being the falls, you have therefore already understood the point of staying at Hotel das Cataratas.... If you get a room with a view like we did, besides, you will have to like the place, in spite of the Brazilian old-fashioned... more

San Juan Foz Do Iguacu

Sep 13, 2008

I was incredibly disappointed with this hotel. Upon arrival, I was shown to a grim room, which had a locked door leading to another room. The level of noise from the tv in the adjacent room was unbearable, so I had to request to be moved to another room, but this proved to be worse - there were ants in... more

I went to Foz last december with my 2 daughters and my husband. It was an amazing surprise. The location is not that bad, it's very close of a big mall with all kind of restaurants and fast food. We rent a basic car to go everywhere. At the end of the afternoon, my daughters went to the great pool they... more

The hotel itself was very nice. The included breakfast buffet was wonderful. The dinner buffet was also good. The first night we ordered from the menu and it was awful. The hotel also only has two levels of tour. One is to use the local bus system and do it yourself. The other is expensive, to rent a car and... more

This is a very good hotel, has a good location for exploring Iguassu falls, rooms are nice and clean. The staff is good, although many of them do not speak english. The breakfast was great. Overall. considering the price a great hotel. more

This hotel truly is 5-star for Iguacu - it compares favourably to a Marriott or Fairmont in North America. The rooms are nice, the amenities are good (including mini-bar, satellite television including English news channels, and a beautiful washroom). However, the price is expensive for Brazil. Additionally, for this cost, Internet really should be included. At the moment it costs... more

LOCATION and luxury. Located beside the falls the location is great, and if you rise early you can see the falls before the hords of buses arrive. Also late visit is easy after dinner. Hotel is adequate a bit dated, it was being redone when we were there (new pool, tennis courts), but still luxurious. Breakfast buffet is good, sitting... more

Bourbon Cataratas Resort & Convention Center

I'll have to agree with several of the others recently posting reviews of the Bourbon. One guide book I consulted listed this as one of the 10 best hotel in Brazil. I think NOT. It does have nice features. The public areas are pleasant and the gardens and small zoo on the premises are great. But our group too had... more

I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights during a conference and paid approximately US$65 per night. This hotel is located quite close to the airport and the Falls, but it is quite a ride (approx R$30-40 by taxi) from downtown. The hotel lobby is very nice and clean. Computers with Internet access as well as wireless Internet access is... more

Bourbon Iguassu Golf Club & Resort

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel, however the rooms were very outdated. The rooms looked like they were stuck in the 70s. The grounds were pretty nice though. They had a game room w/ ping pong and a foosball table. The tennis courts are ok, although the hotel supplies you with very old rackets and balls. Food at... more

Nice little hotel in downtown (centro), 3 blocks from the bus terminal and close to shops on Avenue Brasil. I think hotel was renovated recently, so looks new. We booked a deluxe room, but felt it's little small for 2 adults and one child. Their breakfast is excellent (we stayed in two other places in Brazil and Nadai breakfast is... more

The park is only a few miles away from the resort where my husband and i stayed and it was the one of the most beautiful places I had ever seen. There are many different walking trails and you see countless waterfalls, exotic plants and animals all along the way. The trail we took lead us to the main falls... more

Hotel Das Cataratas was located inside the national park on the Brazilian side of Iguacu Falls. You do have to pay the park entrance fee of $12.50US per person while being transported to the hotel. The hotel is a beautiful old colonial, quite impressive, and is located across the street from the falls. From the bell tower, which you can... more

This grand colonial style hotel has definitely seen some better days. Overall it's rundown and tired, and lacks any enthusiasm for service. It almost feels like a US national park lodge. Our room was big and it had a little balcony that had a rather disappointing "forest and service building view." The interior was old and definitely in need of... more

Hotel Del Rey

Aug 17, 2008

I stayed at Hotel Del Rey for 2 nights in july 2008. The staff was polite and kind. They could help me with getting a cab and finding restaurants nearby. But the room was really tiny - I had to walk sideways between the bed and the TV. The shower dropped so little water that it was difficult to rinse... more
