Masmak Citadel

4 of 5 stars
Lancashire, UK
Aug 16, 2008

Visited Masmak in December 2007 - entrance is free and you only have to sign the visitors book to gain entry. As with most places in Riyadh, it closes during prayer times. Inside the fort you are free to self-guide through various rooms, all depicting the history of Riyadh (wall signs in Arabic and English). Given the very fast rate... more

I arrived at the Hotel late in the evening but was booked in and taken to my room very quickly. The staff were very helpful and efficient.Within 10 minutes of arrival in my room a Butler came to my room to welcome me and explain the rooms facilities and electronic control unit. The rooms facilities were excellent, the bed very comfortable and the... more

After several visits to this restaurant at different times of the day, I do not know how this is at the top of any restaurant lovers list. Being Saudi Arabia, the atmosphere is very sterile, they try their best in doing away with the cubicles that are all too common in most restaurants in this rather dull city. However, the... more

Al Khozama Hotel

Wilmington, Delaware
Jul 30, 2008

My room on the fifth (top) floor was small, with a single bed, but otherwise comfortable, clean and well-equipped with everything I need for work or downtime. Closet and shelf space was more than adequate. Fresh flowers, a fruit basket and several bottles of water all replenished daily are a nice amenity. Extensive selection of international cable TV channels. Staff... more

Marriott Riyadh

Jul 26, 2008

I stayed at this hotel in March 2008 and found it very nice. Although it appears tired when you look at it from outside, rooms are clean and renovated. Nice and decorated prayer area and lobby. Early check in: around 11:30 a.m. and late check out: around 4:00 p.m. The only disadvantage I saw is the car parking location. Although... more

The Holiday Inn Olaya, Riyadh, is a fantastic hotel. This was the second time I have stayed here, the first was back in 2006. The hotel lobby is very striking as they have a gentleman in full Saudi dress (long white robe and red and white head dress) serving drink and dates! The hotel itself is modern and clean. The... more

Madareem Crown Hotel

No guest information in the rooms, restaurant shut at night and the other two shut randomly. They would rather use the restaurants for functions for outside parties than provide a service for the paying guests, so you end up having to order from the uninspiring and limited room service menu. There are no restaurants in the locality. Breakfast in the... more

Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh at Kingdom Centre

Stayed here as part of a business trip in April for 5 days. The hotel room I stayed in was large (probably bigger than a standard room). It was on teh 42nd floor and overlooked Riyadh landscape. Riyadh is flat, so you could see for miles. Bathroom was huge and had L'occitaine toiletries replenished everyday. There are a couple of... more

InterContinental Riyadh

There are two parts to the hotel relating to older and newer contemporary 'club' block. I had a suite in lower floor of the older block with more classical furniture with an Eastern rwist...with large bedroom and associated spacious sitting area. Bathrooms are to Japanese design (i.e. small) and mine was in need of decorative attention with rather unpleasant marks... more

Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh at Kingdom Centre

This hotel is located in the Kingdom building definitely the most impressive building in Riyadh if not the whole middle east. Stayed in this hotel for one night on a business trip - fantastic arrival experience - well trained employees - perfection in everything they do. It is very hard to find fault if I was being picky I could... more

Al Khozama Hotel

Tokyo, Japan
May 29, 2008

My seven day stay in this hotel was overall a pleasant experience. I got a single room that was of a good median size and quality you may find in most mid-range West European hotels. The bathroom was spacious and spotless-clean. Buffer breakfast was excellent in quality and variety. Food in all restaurants was good to great and reasonably priced... more

Almuthana Hotel

May 22, 2008

For some odd reason, all the branded hotels in Riyadh were full last week, so I decided to try out Almuthana. The hotel's own website doesn't offer online booking, but a site called ResMe.com does, so I booked a "Studio" room for three nights at US$120/night, considerably cheaper than the US$200+ you'd be looking at for my usual Holiday Inn.... more

Tulip Inn Olaya House

May 11, 2008

It's hard to write an objective review when feeling this dejected about a hotel. The Tulip Inn in Olaya doesn't fair well in my books... the rooms are in poor condition - in my room anything from running a tap to flushing the toilet caused an unbearable stench to fill the room, perhaps problem with the sewerage lines? The door... more
