The hotel was a disappointment. We picked the hotel because of its location in/on the island. The pictures of the hotel suggested simple but charming rooms. My husband and I were advised to spend a night inside the walls of Mont St. Michel. I went ahead and booked two nights at le Mouton Blanc. We stayed in a newer room, as we wanted a shower. Mont St. Michel is probably one of the only, (Maybe THE only) place one can see foundation stone with rustic carved arches overlayed with Roman arches, AND Norman architecture AND Gothic AND High Gothic all in the same building! It is truly unique and not to be missed if you are ever in Europe. That said, go sooner than later.... more
