Corte Contarina

Castello is a great neighborhood. Quiet, local, and close to St. Marks. Via Ghirabaldi is a great place to shop like a local, eat at a local restaurant, shop in a grocery store, etc. The staff is helpful, the rooms are ok, considering they are in Venice. Don't expect a view, and the apartment room across the street could use... more

We stayed here for 4 nights as a base camp for visiting Venice, Verona and Padova. The room was nicely furnished with antiques, though the toiletries were reminiscent of Best Western (plastic disposable cups in a 4 star hotel?). The location was very good, with easy access to the excellent Italian toll road system. It was only a 30-40 minute... more

My wife and I spent a week at Bob and Jenny's in June of 2008. Without exaggeration...it was a perfect stay. The accommodations were clean and roomy. We stayed in the 2 bedroom unit just downstairs from their apartment. We lucked out...and had the entire unit to ourselves for most of the week. Even when another couple arrived...the place is... more

Le Vescovane is a charming inn (agriturismo) in the countryside about 20 minutes outside Vicenzo. First the bad -- they lost our reservation and we showed up at the end of the "bridge week" when it seems all of Italy is on holiday. They were full and could not give us a room for the first 3 nights of a... more

Find somewhere else to stay in this pretty city. Stayed here 2 nights as part of a bicycle tour. I would never stay there again. There are problems with this hotel. Outside is run down and garden closed. From a walk along the road at night, it appears to be in a red light area. It is a mile from... more

Once good now relying on faded glory. This was once a great place but I've had two terrible meals in a row - avoid this place. more

Le Vescovane is supposed to be what Italians call an Agriturismo – a sort of countryside bed & breakfast, often a small farm offering their own products in cosy surroundings. However, Le Vescovane is more like a small hotel without the normal facilities of a hotel… When finding Le Vescovane on the internet, we were charmed by the beautiful pictures,... more

Villa Tacchi

My husband and I stayed here for one night as part of our Italian tour. We totally loved it here and is a little bit of luxury. It is very unique inside and has many hidden rooms and places to explore. The bedrooms are full of character and very romantic with wooden beams and wooden shutters on the windows. There... more

Incredible fresh seafood at reasonable prices - I've never had a bad meal here. This is the best seafood restaurant in Vicenza. A great wine list - not too long but all the bottles are good at reasonable prices. more

Excellent hotel, spotless throughout. Staff were always helpful and cheerful. Short taxi ride from rail station meant its location was also excellent for trips around the Veneto. Could not fault this hotel in any way,a bargain at the rates offerred. more

We stayed there July 4 and 5, 2008. It is in Vicenza, not Venice. It is just outside the US Army base, and is an overflow referral when the base guest hotel is full. And this hotel filled up both nights. It was very nice, rooms were very cozy. Everything is tile and marble-floors, walls, etc. The breakfast buffet was... more

Tiny shower but has hot water and has optional handheld or jets which was nice. Internet for a fee (1.90 euro for 1st 20 minutes and 1 euro for each additional 20 minutes). Breakfast included choice of bread (jelly filled, chocolate filled, croissants, wheat, and sour dough), apples, plain yogurt, choice of jam, orange juice, and choice of hot tea,... more

Hotels were rather hard to come by in Vicenza. We got this one for 95 euros per night through vicenzabooking.com. The location was very good, a 5-10 minute walk from the train station, and about the same into the main part of town. It was on a bus route, so our front facing room was pretty noisy. The room was... more

We stayed for a week at Villa Tacchi and were fortunate to have excellent weather - the previous weeks had been cool and damp and because of its location perhaps 10 miles from Vicenza, I would think boredom could easily set in. We went with Saga - another bugbear for other guests I suspect - as Saga reserve one of... more

Location: being 150 mt away from the conference venue, it was very convenient for us attending the conference at the FIERA, which however is out of the city. City needs to be accessed by some sort of transport, we had our car. Room: spacious, bed was a luxuriously spacious and hard matress (not sagging etc) , bed sheets and towels... more

This clean, newer hotel was a 15 minute bus ride to the heart of Venice, with a bus stop just around the corner. The bus tickets are about 1.20 euro each way. You can also take a 10 minute bus or taxi ride from Marco Polo airport to the hotel. It was approximately 18 euro to take a taxi. We... more

This is an excellent modern hotel. We had a very comfortable, big, air-conditioned room on the sixth floor with fine views over the city. The en-suite bathroom was also good, the only criticism being that the shower was over the bath. The hotel lift is quite small. There is an underground garage. The Buffet Breakfast was very good. more

The good thing about this hotel was its close location to the city centre - just a couple of minutes walk to the pedestrianised historic core, and its free parking. The bad thing was its ghastly 1970s decor in public areas and bedrooms; the cheap toiletries in the bathroom and lack of airconditioning on a hot early summer night (noisy... more
