On August 30th, we went to Mexicali to visit family and looked for a Hotel near our family. Our cousin called this hotel and made reservations on that same that. Now a Category Three storm, Hurricane Norbert is expected to make landfall this weekend on the Baja Peninsula. At first I was skeptical about staying overnight in a border town, however the Lucerna was a nice oasis. Everyone was very helpful and everyone spoke English. The air temperature was 110 degrees so it was a relief that the pools were very relaxing and cool. The hotel is near grocery stores and restaurants, however a car helps in this... more
